Yes, because these carts don't have the poppet valve (like the epson
carts) which closes the hole.


 
>(2) Has anyone tried regular (all seven inks) printing with the Eboni
cartridge installed?  

I tried one small color print with Eboni installed and it looked fine,
but take that with a grain of salt because I rarely print color.  I
think an experienced color practitioner should do some good testing
before definitively saying it's ok.  But certainly for unimportant
snapshots and such, the appearance seems ok.
