Jack,

I am sure you are correct but at $30 per work registered I don't think it
will be practical for most photographers. Of course for those who achieve
fame and fortune registering your best selling prints would be a wise course
of action.

According to them official form of a copyright notice is:

C 2002 John Doe 

So I have not been following the proper format myself but since a notice is
not required it probably doesn't matter.
