Invitation to join the Mornington Peninsula Camera Club Online Group

2003-12-30 by Andrew Ammendola (Alexius DeZign)

Hello

Recently, an online community group was created as an alternative
resource for the Mornington Peninsula Camera Club (MPCC). There were
two main reasons that were influential during the creation of the group.
The first being to provide club members with an environment where ideas
and topics could be discussed outside normal club meetings. The second
being that the online would also be available to anyone who is
interested in photography and is keen to share, discuss ideas and other
relevant topics regardless of whether the person was a member of the
club or not, and whether the person was from the Mornington Peninsula
(South of Melbourne, Australia) or any international location. Also,
subscription to the community group is FREE.

Hence, you are cordially invited to join the Mornington Peninsula Camera
Club online community group and be part of a friendly group.

The site can be found by clicking on the following url,

 <http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/MorningtonPeninsulaCameraClub/>
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/MorningtonPeninsulaCameraClub/.

The group is still in the very early stages of existence so some of the
planned activities are still being finalised. Currently, conditions are
being discussed to set up an online gallery where group members can
upload images so that other members can provide constructive and
positive critiques. There may also be the possibility for group members
participating in monthly, set and open subject, competitions. More is
to follow on this topic......

The actual MPCC will be holding an annual exhibition of club member's
work on 1 Feb 2004. As a subscriber to the online group , you are also
invited to submit any work you may wish to exhibit, providing it meets
some basic criteria.

The only requirements that would need to be considered by the
photographer would be the following:

*	All pictures will need to be at least matted as also required by
other exhibitors.

*	All pictures shall have correct personal information identifying
the photographer's identity., photographer's location and any comments
relating to the photo. I will then create a label with the information
provided which will be located next to or below the image.

*	Appropriate packaging so that pictures are not damaged during
transit to & from the exhibition

*	Any accrued expenses in regards to Postage and/or Courier costs
to send the pictures and if required to also have them returned back to
the photographer.

The exhibition will be shown to the public and my understanding is that
it will also be advertised in the local papers. Thus, a significant size
crowd is expected.

I hope you are able to take a peek at the site and join our group. You
would be most welcome.

Regards and Best Wishes for 2004
