Well, I just tried it. It does seem that Adobe PC CS does indeed refuse to load images of currency. Not just U.S. currency, however. PS CS for Windows will tell you, "This application does not support the unauthorized processing of banknote images." There is also a button that will take you to a website for more information (http://www.rulesforuse.org/). A quick look at some of the sites around the world leads me to conclude that the reason for this feature is to avoid liability in other countries. Some government regulations require photocopier manufacturers, etc. to use technology that deters or thwarts the reproduction of currency. For example . . . Section 457 of Canada's Criminal Code says: 1. No person shall make, publish, print, execute, issue, distribute or circulate, including by electronic or computer-assisted means, anything in the likeness of (a) a current bank note; or (b) an obligation or a security of a government or bank. I've seen for myself that Adobe CS does this with the new $20. Even the specimen image from the U.S. Secret Service site brings up the warning. I don't know that this slows the loading of Adobe CS appreciably, but the claim it blocks images of some currencies is true. Cheers, Mitch
