What is a bit disturbing here is the trend. I don't think it's to far fetched to image the govt forcing all printer makers to restrict the precision and capabilities of their products under this same premise.  After all, they did this with GPS for many years.

Come on guys enough conspiracy nosnsense. I suspect the Adobe legal 
staff is worried about thier potential  liability either the US 
Government or a foreign governemnt decided to go after them in the case 
of counterfeiting currency.

As far as not telling anyone, no one ever said corporate lawyers were 
the brightest bulb when it came to comsumer relations.

Besides this is getting pretty OT.
