I just received my Easy BW (Neutral)cartridges today from MIS for my c82 and I'm pretty disappointed with the results thus far. I have made a bunch of prints on Epson Enhanced Matte paper and have found that they are all washed out looking; no deep, rich blacks. From the time I first heard of this new ink in early December and was actually able to order it a couple of weeks ago, I started playing around with BO printing a la Clayton Jones on my 2200, using MIS Eboni ink, and I find those prints much richer looking with a greater tonal range. Tonight I made several side by side comparisons and the BO looked better than the Easy BW every time. Here's my question: could it be possible that 1) I am doing something wrong with the c82 (although I am not sure what; using the Easy BW inks seems like a pretty turn-key operation) or that 2) one of the inks cartridges is mislabeled. One thing I didn't mention earlier is that after making my first Easy BW print, I realized that I had inadvertently installed the BW Photo Black cartridge. I replaced it with the BW Eboni, ran a couple of cleaning cycles, reprinted the image and found that the two looked identical! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
