There are occasionally discussions of home-brewed machines on the Photoshop
list. Info on that list is available at
<http://www.listmoms.net/lists/photoshop/> if you are not already familiar
with it.

Of course, to avoid being "OT" it's best to frame the questions in terms of
the best hardware to run _Photoshop_ versus generic hardware questions.
