Hi Ernst,

I'd stick to a stable version rather than have to spend time
debugging. To
my mind the big jump will be when the gimp plug-in will recognize
the QTR
drivers.

Roger,

I had no intention to use it. At first I got the impression that
it actually is the stable version of the 4.3 series, that one was
more or less promised soon.
Now I understand that it is a new branch for development.

I agree that with the Gimp plug-in recognising QTR we have a far
better setup. Robert Krawitz knows that it doesn't work now as I
have written him about it. But he was busy bringing out 5.0 :-)

Meanwhile the Gimp-print port to Risc Os seems to be finished,
the Risc PC that I still have will soon be able to print with it.
Wonder whether it can be changed to a QTR version too. At least
on that OS I know a bit better what can be changed. Memory is
limited on that system though. But there's a PC emulator for Risc
Os.

Makes me wonder why Gimp-print still isn't ported to the PC. The
Risc Os version was a one man job by Martin that didn't take more
than 3 months.
