Digital BW, The Print

I just installed QTR and I am impressed by the neutral B&W tones using the stock 
ultrachrome inks in my 2200.  However, I have two problems that maybe some of you 
can help me work through:

1.  There is a significant reduction in contrast compared to my prints using the Epson 
driver.  I tried 50/50 warm/cool for Enhanced Matte.  How can I restore the contrast?

2.  The printer will not react when I try to print at 2880/1440 dpi.  Using 1440 high 
quality, it prints fine, but with reduced contrast.

Any solutions?  I appreciate any advice you can give.
