Digital BW, The Print

I use T400 CN film and scan on a Minolta Dimage 5400. I have scanned 
at B&W setting and also color negative setting, which comes on the 
screen in weird color. I use the RGB channels, and invariably Green 
gives the best scan. Why does Green give a better scan than B&W?
This forum is great, although I don't always know what you're talking 
about - but I've learned a lot. Thanks
