As you found out, you cannot print to QTR from the Gimp. I hope that
this will be remedied in the future but for now it just won't work. 

Another possibility is to use Kprint but I haven't tried it so I can not
comment on how or if it works with QTR.

If you would like a copy of the command line script before it appears in
the files let me know and I'll send it to you as an attachment.
