Just clocked into this thread - I have the same problem as the Aussies 
and the Subcontinent.  Must be incoming traffic from the Pacific.  I 
know nothing of the routing stuff but happy to do something to trace 
the problem with instructions.  I am a newbie and would really like to 
take a look at Paul's site - have been trying without success for 3 
months.

Paul - what is your call on using an Epson 1200 for BW? Would that be 
MIS VM, fill your own carts?  Although the 1200 is listed in the MIS 
workflow page for VM, they don't list pre-filled carts or CFS with 
these inks for the 1200.
