Paul - There is such a wealth of galleries in NYC.  I suggest you 
link to photography-guide.com and click on exhibitions and then 
print the NYC pages.  This will give you up to date info on what's 
on in the galleries and museums.  The best areas are in Soho, 
expecially at 560 Broadway and a few others nearby.  The Prince 
Street station of the N,R and W subways is right there.  Chelsea has 
the most galleries.  These are the blocks from about 22-26th Streets 
between 10-11th Aves.  Also the Stevenson Gallery on 23d near 8th 
Ave.  The 23d St station on the C,E lines is best or 23d St on the 1-
9 lines.  the 57th and 5th Ave area is also excellent.
