Re: [Digital BW] Dealing with Image theft - how not to sell an Epson 4000 :-)

2004-03-31 by Gus J Grubba

This happened to me once. I had placed an old router on eBay and some
guy decided to sell his using my picture (linking straight to my
server). I got so pissed that I canceled my auction, got a sledge
hammer and beat the crap out of the router. I then took another
picture of it completely mangled up and waited for him to get a bid
before changing the picture. Later I kept changing the picture
captions with absurd statements such as "Got mad with my mother-in-law
today" and so on. I was laughing so hard for those 3 or 4 days that it
was worth every penny of the router I demolished just for this. I
still wonder what happened at the end of the auction as it ended with
a $20 bid on a $500 router.
