Yes John..
You should use the tie-wrap..Just make sure you "install" it as shown in the picture fof the installation..This will hold your cartridge in place and keep it from lifting..

  Installed MIS's CFS/UT2 on an Epson 890 printer last week. Noticed in the instructions to 
  install a tie wrap around the carts - but none was sent. The printer is working great so far 
  but was wondering if the tie wrap is needed? If so I'll just buy a bag of ties but wanted to 
  know if the installation was changed a little.

  Been using both Paul's curves and Roy's QTR - both are working wonderfully!

  The UT2s are the best bang for the buck!
