I'm not a guru either, but Linux should be able to recognise most if not all
partition types, you just need to mount the partition and assign it a mount
point. If you've ever come across Knoppix you will know what I mean. I used
it on several NT machines to boot from the CD and it read directly the NTFS
partitions on the drives.

So apparently it's definitely possible with the addition of the driver from
the above page, I'm not sure if it's read only or read write, but read only
should suffice to get your images into linux to print
