Thanks Roger! Good information. I now have some options. I'd like to get Linux to recognize a new vfat partitions which I'll create with Partition Magic. Failing that I could go the flash memory route. I guess I could also burn a CD in XP and open it in Linux. I'll have to play around. Thanks again, Tom Tom, I've gone all of these routes. If you are going to work from a dual boot system I would seriously consider setting up the fat32 partition in XP and then reloading Linux and including that partition as a vfat partition called something like /photo. In the long run it will be the simplest way around the editing/printing problem with QTR. I have a separate linux box as well as an old beige mac (bought on ebay for $100.00) that I use for printing with QTR. I use both the USB flash memory route as well as a shared partition. Eventually I am going to bag the PC and get a more capable mac, get a platform transfer of photoshop from adobe and quit fighting this. My Linux box runs circles around the mac in speed but it is an idiot savant printing system lacking much of the software I routinely use. On the other hand it is a superb print engine. No perfect answer yet but I think you will like what you can do with Linux and QTR even if the workflow is a bit cumbersome. Roger [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
