"Not for me. I use a liquid mounting technique developed by Mac Holbert (Nash Editions) where the neg/tran is set directly on the glass of a flatbed scanner. I imagine that celluloid is about as flat as it can be!" A much easier way to get the same result is to lay the negative, emulsion-side down, directly on the scanner glass and cover it with a piece of anti-newton glass.
