Digital BW, The Print

Hi I have received my new 1290 and a UT-2 CFS. So far things work 
quite ok except that the 1290 doesn't - as has been reported on the 
MIS web site - behave exactly like the 1280, I still try to tweak the 
curves a bit.

However I realized that due to the chip resetting at every switching 
off/ on again results in a long cleaning cycle each and every time. 
Does anyone know if this leads to a considerably higher ink waste? 
Might it be more economic to leave the printer on 24h a day? (my PC 
is normally off at night).
