Digital BW, The Print

I am running a Mac G4 with OS 10.2 and QTR installed (with gimp-print,
etc).   Got an Epson 2200, and also use the Epson driver, for color work.

I am ready to upgrade to Panther, but I seem to recall reading (but cannot
locate) something about some weird interaction of Panther with gimp-print
or QTR or something.

Could someone briefly describe how I should go about the upgrade ?
Do I need to uninstall and re-install gimp and QTR and all, or what ?
