Perhaps it uses a pair of smallest possible dots instead on one larger one to lessen dot gain on thick papers which might be uncoated... I got them one other time, during experiments last year with chips and carts. I can't remember exactly what it was, either putting Museum Black in an Epson MK cart or putting a PK chip on an Eboni cart...something like that. Doesn't seem to be a problem.
