Re: [Digital BW] Ink mixing - MIS ut eboni with epson dye

2004-06-06 by Bob Michaels

MIS tells you not to mix Eboni and dye in the same cart, but it is OK
to remove a dye cart and just put in an Eboni one. My experience
agrees with this. I've been swapping my Eboni filled CFS carts and dye
ink prefilled carts while trying to solve a CFS feed problem in my
1280. No nozzle clogging that a few cleaning cycles wouldn't cure.

In fact MIS very explicitly tells you that if you have a persistent
clog in an Eboni CFS system, remove it and put in factory prefilled
carts (i.e. dye) to clear the clog and get the system working right,
then reinsert the CFS carts. This is the most critical step according
to Bob Z at MIS (plus my experience over a few years) and from the
discussions on this list, the most ignored.
