Digital BW, The Print

I have posted this on last Thursday but it seems to have gotten lost
among the dozens of replies to my "Photoshop for $299" message. Let me
try it again:


I'm printing B&W and also Quadtoned pictures with the HP 7960.
Usually, the dithering is not noticable at all but sometimes on
certain midtones it's very visible. Even from some distance (I mean
like 12-15 inches on an 8x10).

The problem is that these midtones usually appear on the face of the
subject (portraits) so it's even more bothersome.

Does anyone have the same experience?
