Michael, this should be pretty easy. I've not done this on a 7600/9600, but have done it many times on the earlier models 7000/7500/9000/9500. 1. Set the printer to Transport mode, which drains the ink lines fairly good. With the printer on, remove all of the ink carts and turn the power off. The printer will purge the ink lines (takes several minutes) and finally power down. 2. Power the printer on again, and install the cleaning carts. Let the printer fill with the cleaning solution. When this is finished, the printer should read Ready on the LED panel. 3. Next you need a purge pattern that will use all of the inks. I found one at the following link: http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/purging.html Using inexpensive paper, you should widen the image to the width of your printer and print this pattern again and again until it's hard to see any ink on the printed page. I switch between resolutions and paper types, to make sure every nozzle and ink cartridge is purged through. 4. Set the printer to transport mode as in step 1, and then install the new inks as in step 2. 3 and 4 alternative method - Using the transport mode/init fill procedure can waste some of the new ink, so if you want to conserve as much as possible, you can simply switch inks without putting the printer in transport mode. Switch the printer off and power on into maintenance mode (three fingers on the right on a 7000) and run multiple KK2 Cleaning cycles until the ink is fully loaded to the printheads. Then you should print the purge pattern until you've got good consistent color and it looks like you've finally purged the cleaning fluid from the printheads. Anyway, you may have to modify this for your 7600/9600, but it should be basically correct. Have fun! -kris > -----Original Message----- > From: mfp90021 [mailto:mfp90021@...] > Sent: Tuesday, June 08, 2004 7:49 PM > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Digital BW] (unknown) > > I am hoping that someone could give me advise on how to > change from Septone BW inks to Ultrachrome inks on an Epson > 9600.
