>... If I >switch over to the MIS UltraTone FS/FSN, ... > would they maybe work with the Septone RIP? The FS inks are compatible with the old Cone/Piezo driver, which I think is now the R9 driver. I don't know much about the Septone RIP, but I think it is different. With quads (not hextone printers) FS inks can also be printed with the Epson driver. In fact, I think they are better with it. >My second question, I looked on the Jon Cone website at the fade >report for his inks as compared to MIS's and also Sundance's. ... I think the only MIS inks in the comparative fade tests are the old MIS FS inks, not the new UT-FS inks, which are state of the art. >... We are looking for >inks that are going to hold up in the longer run. My tests indicate that the state of the art inks in terms of longevity are the MIS Ultra Tone family, the Cone PiezoTone inks, and the Epson UltraChrome black inks (matte, photo and light). (I have not tested the Septone inks.) Good luck in your search. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
