Hi Dave, In general I've been mostly using resolutions between 360 and 720ppi in the file. The higher resolutions are taken advantage of. What actually happens is the file is resampled to the dpi resolution of the final print i.e. 1440x720 on the fly. This is done prior to QTR and gimp-print. I think Jaguar used a simple nearest-neighbor algoritm but Panther uses some interpolation -- probably bi-linear. The good news is that it can give very good detail but the downside is that it takes more cpu time. In my case I always have resolution to spare so I just give it what I have. If I was starting with a lower res I'd use the more sophisticated upsizing of Photoshop to get to at least 360. The best thing is to try it and see what works best for your images. Roy
