RE: [Digital BW] Mounting digital prints. What to use?

2004-06-24 by Ken Carney

Gabor, I have dry-mounted dye and pigment inkjet prints using the same
techniques as with a silver print (layers of matt board in the press,
low-temp tissue) with no problems --that I know of. Ask me in 30 years.
However, I put mounting and framing in PITA level 8 (developing film is 10).
So now I outsource, and the very talented framer I use uses the Light
Impressions corner mounts. This seems to work OK with heavier papers, but
with lighter papers I may have her go to tape, cold mount or something to
avoid buckling. As an artistic decision I prefer dry-mounting and signing
on the matt board, but...there is only so much time and I don't really want
to have anyone else do the dry-mounting part.

Regards,
