Unless your eyesight and your LCD panel are very good, it may be hard to tell what effect the rotation of the polarizing filter will have on the image. Keep in mind that the filter will cut out about two f/ stops worth of light, and that you may need to check the camera's manual to see if the use of circular polarizer is required. It can certainly darken blue skies on a sunny day and eliminate certain reflections, but there are more things you can do to add drama in image editing than with the filter.
