Polarizing filters

2004-06-24 by Stephen Petegorsky

Unless your eyesight and your LCD panel are very good, it may be hard to
tell what effect the rotation of the polarizing filter will have on the
image. Keep in mind that the filter will cut out about two f/ stops worth
of light, and that you may need to check the camera's manual to see if the
use of circular polarizer is required. It can certainly darken blue skies
on a sunny day and eliminate certain reflections, but there are more things
you can do to add drama in image editing than with the filter.
