Hello everybody, I am new to the list. I am starting to use the UT-FSN ink set on an Epson 1160. So far I have used Triton Plus, which is a German product. I was never satisfied with the shadow separation. Therefore I decided to switch to MIS. I am using your Pauls curves provided by MIS on their webpage. The paper is Hahnemuehle Photo Rag 308g. Printing is done from Photoshop 7. With the grayscale profile UT-GrayScale-EEM.acv I am getting reasonable results. There is room for improvement, but this is not a surprise, since the curve is a generic one. Using the photo rag curve 1160-UT-FS-RGB-PhotoRag and converting the picture (step wedge) into RGB before printing makes things much worse. There is no rise from light to dark grays. It goes up and down. I think I miss something obvious. My other setting: Color space :AdobeRGB(1998) Epson Paper setting: Heavy Matte Dot Gain: 20% Your help would be very much appreciated.
