The lightjet can make beutiful black and white prints. A good profile is needed. I make my own profiles with Colorvision's Profiler Pro software. The profile is made in color. The file is converted to grayscale and then back to RGB. A good profile will yield a really neutral tone. The downside of the Lightjet is the paper choices. You pretty much get a glossy and a matte. I use a technique on the Lightjet that works really well. I choose "Color Range" in Photoshop and select the midtones. The selection is then feathered 5 pixels. The unsharp mask is then used with these settings: Amount 20 Radius 60 Threshols 0 This really adds some punch. The same technique is then done on the shadows. This works really well on Inkjet prints also. Steve Burger
