Val - I've been using a 14n for the past year, and it suits my purposes very
well.  I think that if you get a good enough deal on one so that you could
get the imager upgrade from Kodak (which puts the new sensor in), it may be
worthwhile.

I've used it for all sorts of stuff, and what went into my decision to buy
it was the fact that it generates larger files than some of the other
D-SLR's, and that there is no lens-multiplier factor (so you don't lose the
use of wide-angle lenses).  While I primarily use it for color work, I have
done a lot of black and white as well, and am quite happy with it.  It
wouldn't be as fast as the Canon, if you're looking to shoot action with it,
but on the other hand, it's much less expensive, especially if you have
Nikon lenses already.

You can do the math; how much better it is than 6MP cameras may depend on
what size prints you are planning to make from the files.  I had a 3.4MP
camera before this one, and there is no comparison.
