My experience has been just the opposite with a Nikon Coolscan V.
Sometimes there is unintentional overexposure followed by normal
development and the scanned images have little contrast with
grain/noise being very present.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
