Digital BW, The Print

i am printing and using the recomended paul's setting with the
printer, some of my images that are on the darker side or have deep
shadows don't print properly. i get areas of blk glut that the ink
shows no detail and it looks to be not dry (but that's not the
problem), i can not pinpoint what prints will give bad resutls and
also how to avoid it.
