As you probably know, the 1280 stock inks are dyes, which fade pretty quickly, but that's not an issue with the MIS pigs. The 2200 has some advantages over the 1280, but not really in output quality. Its advantages are: somewhat faster; higher dot resolution in one dimension; FireWire interface; 7 color (adding light black); individual ink tanks; automatic roll paper cutter.
