Digital BW, The Print

Dear B&W Printing List Humans,

I just purchased a used Epson 1160 printer. It looks in very good
shape and seems to have been used very little. I have the printer,
but no information about its history.

I cannot get any of the nozzles to fire in a "nozzle check".
It came with a set of non Epson "compatible" cartridges
installed that seem to have ink. I first tried to get function using
these compatible cartridges but no luck. Other than no ink coming
out the printer it seems to be behaiving in the expected manner
(paper feed, carriage movements, etc).

I then installed a set of cleaning cartridges, the type with a very
faint tint for each color, but still no nozzle will fire.

I tried several head cleanings and nozzle checks.

I have put Windex on the parking pad and turned the printer off so
they can soak overnight.

Any other suggestions?

I am hoping to set up a quadtone system using this printer.
