Digital BW, The Print

I just started using UT7 inks in an Epson 2200 and Paul Roark's 
curves. One problem--the prints are coming out way too light. If I 
go back and lower the brightness in Photoshop, it does very little. 
Seems like the curves are overriding the brightness adjustments that 
I make to the image before applying the curves and that they are 
causing the print to come out way too light. Any suggestions?
