You can do the same thing, and many other things, with much more user control, with QTR, for $50. Also InkJetControl will allow the same sort of B&W output with UC inks and has more user control, can't recall the cost but far less than a full featured RIP. A product like IP has many desireable production features, also does color users are very happy with, etc.. But if you are looking at it soley for it's B&W process, in a non-production environment, I don't see the point anymore. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to give incorrect advice. Otherwise IP is obvioulsy a great product.
