Re: B&W RIP

You can do the same thing, and many other things, with much more user
control, with QTR, for $50. Also InkJetControl will allow the same
sort of B&W output with UC inks and has more user control

sorry to be so dumb, but what are UC inks?

And what is QTR for $50?

And isn't one of the benefits of colorbytethat is that so many inks
and papers are profiled ? I have heard that they will run one if
they don't have it. Of course they are canned, but at least it's the
ball park.

I have tried UT7, and I cannot get it to look as good as my
piezographic prints, which seem to have a much better spread (longer
straight line on a H&D curve) of low and high end values.
