The paper I have been using for years for glossy prints has been discontinued so I am now hunting for a new standard paper for this purpose. All the glossy papers I have tried have either the super gloss look of the ferrotyped (glazed) silver gelatin print or that RC look, none looking anything like silver gelatin glossy paper, air-dried, which I have always used in the darkroom. I wonder if anyone out there has come across a paper that looks like the real thing. I am currently printing BO, using dye based ink. It doesn't matter what the paper is called - glossy, semi-gloss, lustre, semi-matte or whatever -- I just want it to look like a real silver gelatin print, air-dried. If anyone out there knows of such a paper I would very much appreciate your telling me what it is. Olaf Ringdahl [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
