On the Epson America web site the part numbers for the inks appear to be the
same.  For example, the 110 ml UltraChrome Cyan cartridge:

4000 UC cyan = T543200

7600 UC cyan = T543200

See if your local Epson part numbers are likewise the same.

I never bother with flushing, although I don't have a 4000.  With my 7500 I
simply replaced the Archival inks with UT inks and had no problems.  My
experience has been that the Epson pigments and MIS pigments are compatible.
