European Print Exchange

2001-11-04 by Nij

Hi all,

Apologies for yet another email posted to several groups...

This email is to ask for entrants to a European Print Exchange - It _will_
happen if we have enough participants respond!

Final 'rules' are yet to be set, but I would anticipate following closely
the comments by Jason DeFontes from the 'First International Piezo Print
Exchange'. I would anticipate a group size to be an absolute maximum of 31
(i.e. everyone prints 30 prints) - but is perhaps more likely to be around
21. This will be decided afer the initial response to this email.

I hope enough people respond quickly enough that we could set a deadline of
5 weeks or so - that way, you may well have your packages of xx different
prints returned to you before Christmas!

Are you interested? Please email me on mailto:exchange@... !

If we are oversubscribed, then I will prioritise entrants by a mixture of
promptness of response, Piezo over 'other digital output techniques',
European over US, etc... In other words, if you don't print with Piezo, or
aren't based in Europe, but are really keen to enter an exchange, let me
know, and you may 'get in'!

For those of you not aware of what a print-exchange is: An agreed number of
people print xx copies of the same image (their own) and send them in to a
central co-ordinator (me, this time). Those prints are distributed amongst
the other entrants, as are the prints from them. This way, you get a whole
bunch of artwork from a lot of different people with different styles etc,
for the price of your prints and return postage. It's an excellent learning
experience, and right now I can say that my walls are a lot more picturesque
thanks to FIPPE!

Take care, and happy printing,

Nij
