For my sepia toner experiments, I asked MIS for the newest,
more-fade-resistant yellow pigment. What I received was a bottle labeled
"FS - Yellow." Apparently MIS uses the "Full Spectrum" label for the color
pigments that use the newer, more stable yellow (about 1/3 the fading of the
old yellow). For its standard MIS Archival colors, MIS has stayed with the
older yellow because the new one apparently requires new profiles.

The "Double Density" black that I tried was very different in
characteristics than the VM or FS black. The VM and FS blacks are the same.
I would strongly recommend you not use the Double Density black for either
the variable-tone, Woolf, or Piezo workflows. Be sure the black is clearly
the VM quad black or FS quad black.

I think MIS sells the Double Density black for those who want a darker black
for the color pigments. So, it sounds like their shipping department
thought you wanted color inks with the darker black.

For the MIS VM inkset, use the VM quad black. Alternatives are FS quad
black and Piezo quad black, but definitely not Double Density black. (Are
you getting the drift that I really didn't like that stuff?)
