I did not think MIS sold a color ink called "Full Spectrum". For my sepia toner experiments, I asked MIS for the newest, more-fade-resistant yellow pigment. What I received was a bottle labeled "FS - Yellow." Apparently MIS uses the "Full Spectrum" label for the color pigments that use the newer, more stable yellow (about 1/3 the fading of the old yellow). For its standard MIS Archival colors, MIS has stayed with the older yellow because the new one apparently requires new profiles. > For >the black position cartridge I was sent a "MIS quadtone black QDD" cart. >Is this the correct cart for the quad FS set? The "Double Density" black that I tried was very different in characteristics than the VM or FS black. The VM and FS blacks are the same. I would strongly recommend you not use the Double Density black for either the variable-tone, Woolf, or Piezo workflows. Be sure the black is clearly the VM quad black or FS quad black. I think MIS sells the Double Density black for those who want a darker black for the color pigments. So, it sounds like their shipping department thought you wanted color inks with the darker black. >Lastly ...... What kind of ink does the quad VM use for the black >position? Is it also QDD? Alternatives are FS quad black and Piezo quad black, but definitely not Double Density black. (Are you getting the drift that I really didn't like that stuff?) Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
