RE: [Digital BW] possible allignment problem

2001-11-05 by Nij

David,

this sounds like a problem some people experienced with Cone piggy inks - it
was suggested that the viscosity of the ink was too high so the ink droplets
were actually taking longer to come out of the nozzle than they 'ought' to
have been. Kind of like the difference between pouring milk off a spoon
compared to honey or syrup.

I'm afraid I don't think there was a fix - but as I have not heard this
issue reported with other MIS inks, perhaps it was down to a bad batch????
Or, perhaps you need to do a full alignment check... which on the 1280 are
almost certainly (based on the assessment of others) to do with both
physical alignment of the head on the page, and a timing alignment to change
the relative timing of the pulses of the jets firing.

To confirm if this is a 'viscosity' / alignment problem you should see a
similar line at the start of the 'shape' that has no magenta in it at all...
