Some (many?) galleries that sell collectable photos say their customers want
to be able to
see the back of a print (I've never figured out why),

    I think the reason is so they can make sure the it's a "real photo," not
an Epson print. I've seen people instantly turn off when they saw the Epson
logo on the back of a print, especially if they are looking for collectable
photos.
