With EEMand a 2200 printer I've been using cool on the left, warm on the right and the blend set to 75. The results look pretty neutral to my eyes (using MIS Eboni for the black ink). If my wife will ever get off the only computer in the house on which I was able to install QTR and GUI I plan to experiment more but for now the result has been sufficiently neutral to me. I compared the prints made that way to the same prints on the same printer and paper made with BO and from a neutrality standpoint they looked very close to identical to my eyes. Whether either is "perfectly neutral" I'm not sure, I don't have anything perfect to compare them to but they definitely are more neutral than the cool alone and much much more netural than I was getting from MIS VM and UT2 inks on a 1280 towards the end of my days of using those inks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Smallfield" <r.smallfield@...> To: "Digital BW Print" <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 12:43 PM Subject: [Digital BW] Neutral Curve for QTR Hi, I've recently installed QTR for XP and notice that there is no neutral curve. I wondered what people had found the best mix of tones was to get a perfectly neutral curve for EEM/HPR? I've just experimented with 25% cool Selenium and 75% Warm and with small prints, and it looks pretty good. However, I've found that with 10x15" prints any slight tonal bias becomes much more noticeable. Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks, Richard -- http://smallfield.vze.com http://photos.smallfield.vze.com "The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly, is to fill the world with fools." --Herbert Spencer Please visit the Group Homepage to check the Files, and other resources as they are often being updated. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint If you wish to receive no emails or just a daily digest, or you wish to unsubscribe, please edit your Membership preferences by visiting this same page.
