[Digital BW] Re: qtr + qtrgui: Windows printing error with curves ?

2004-12-28 by Roy Harrington

The dpi was the issue. All profiles are for 1440 so that's the dpi to use.

The two different 1440 selections are for how many passes are done to
get all the dots onto the page. 1440 dpi uses 4 passes and 1440 super
uses 8 passes. The reason for this is to use different physical jets for
each pass to reduce the likelihood of banding. But of course more passes
take more time. The other major quality issue is whether the head prints
on both directions or just one way. This is the "Speed" option Faster means
bi-directional and Better means uni-directional. How much difference
this will make on each printer depends on how consistent the positioning
of the head is on the printer.
