I'm happy as a clam with my 2200 for color and non-critical B&W (I do get decent neutrals)...but I want a purely B&W printer as well and I have barely enough table space for the purpose. So, how would YOU start fresh, using somebody's B&W inkset and not planning on bigger than 13X19? Is there anything better than the 1280/1290 for the purpose? Any advantage to a B&W-dedicated 2200? Maybe I should wait until the 2200 replacement model hits, then dedicate the current one to B&W? What additional technology would you suggest (applications, CIS, electronics, dyes...)?
