2000P -- was B&W - How are you doing it?

2005-01-02 by Paul Roark

Steve,

>... when I go to buy the cartridges ... the inksupply site reports
>that the 2000P colour cart is not available...

The 2000P uses 1280 cartridges. The chip is the only difference. For
chips, see MIS at
http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/chips_bus.html .

I see, however, that MIS still does not appear to have the CMCMY UT-FS ink
setup listed on their web page. I suspect these were going to be the first
in-house filling jobs. (I received a beta 2000P FS cart with this ink
arrangement, so I know they can do it.) I suspect in a matter of a week or
so those carts will be listed.

>How do you find the Lyson Quads compare with MIS inks? ...

I have not tested them. I don't use dyes because of fading. The new
swellable emulsion glossy papers make them fine for many uses, but they are
not in the same league with carbon pigments in terms of longevity.

Happy New Year,

Steve,

The 2000P is supported. See
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/2000P-FS-Readme.htm .

For a partial list of other printers that I've worked out procedures for,
see my general index of printing information at
