With new C86's costing often less than $70 with rebates, don't pay much for
a used older model.  It might, in fact, be worth it to just forget the C84
unless it's a gift.

This gets real subjective.  I think most people initially have a negative
reaction to matte papers.  They don't look like the photos they're used to.
So, with that in mind, I'd recommend the EZ-Neutral, Photo black, and Costco
Kirkland Glossy inkjet paper as a way to start.
