Digital BW, The Print

I've been reading messages about the print exchange all day long at
work, knowing that my package was waiting for me at home. I was a bit
skeptical after reading all the glowing emails but then my wife and I
sat down with a glass of wine and went through the stack of prints\ufffd 
I've been taking pictures for almost 30 years\ufffdin college, through
various jobs and for myself\ufffdand I can't remember a feeling like I had
while looking at all those pictures. It seemed such a pure experience.
People with nothing, really, to gain other than the knowledge of
another's use of the medium (OK, and a bunch of really nice prints),
spending all that time (especially Shaun in sorting and Berndt, Carolyn
and Paul in printing comparisons) preparing their work for inclusion in
the exchange. I felt bad actually about having not written more about
the image I sent after reading the stories others included about theirs.
